It is a steel with marked non-distorting properties.
Fairly good toughness and good wear resistance.
The chemical composition of this steel permits fairly simple in service heat treatment (low hardening temperature with therefore limited distortion).
Exploiting the temperature range 170 ÷ 200 °C, it is possible to eliminate hardening distortions (see tempering curve).
