A steel characterised by excellent hardening penetration, good machinability, polishability and aptitude for photoengraving, this steel is used in the broad field of medium and large plastic moulds.

It can be nitrided to further improve its wear resistance.

Features:

– uniform hardness over the entire cross-section
– excellent polishability
– good chip removal
– nitridable
– suitable for EDM
– suitable for chrome plating

Usage:

– steel for plastic moulds suitable for thicknesses from 400 mm, when homogeneous hardness, high toughness and polishability are required
– moulds for TV casings and rear walls
– casings for photocopiers
– frames for bumpers
– moulds for instrument panels and large body parts
– moulds for garbage cans
– frames for die-casting
